    False Alarm
    False Alarm

False Alarm have been one of Hong Kong's most beloved bands since they first formed in October 1999. The band has since evolved into a 5-man band. Extremely wild and noisy guitar sounds, with high output and crazy feedback but sweet melodies are the distinctive characteristics of their songs. False Alarm have contributed to numbers of local band shows and two compilation albums "U-soundtrack" and "MCB200". Two released singles "Is You" and "Unknown Festival" have been critically acclaimed by the local music reviewers.

In the summer of 2002, False Alarm started to record their debut album in their band-room. The 11 youthful songs full of LOVE and FIRE revealed the diverse elements of False Alarm's musical style. The debut was released in May 2003: Excellent and wonderful review articles were given by MCB (vol: 216; 9 marks out of 10) and Next Magazine (4 stars out of 5).

By 2004, False Alarm was featured in local indie record label 89268's compilation "Come Out And Play" with "The Hyper". At the end of the year, they joined all the Harbour Records's buddies for a tribute compilation to AMK "in the name of AMK", to show their respect to the local indie pioneers.

False Alarm showed their darker side by the 2nd album "The Time Is Coming", which was released in June of 2005 under Harbour Records. The 2nd coming was well received by local musicians and critics¡G

Fung Lai Chi (renowned music critique)
The music of False Alarm never lives with boundaries, this entity is scarce among the bands that play rock music in Hong Kong. The possibilities in their music are never contained by the existence of any musical category or deception to way of thinking. Indeed, this is not easy.

    The Pancakes (local indie darling)
This is so nice that I turned the volume all the way up! Lately, I scared my doggy and had my speakers 'funk' to their demolition. While False Alarm is my favorite band in Hong Kong¡KI don't care!

Siu Ye Jim (renowned 903 DJ)
From the creative matters in the recordings to the image of the band, there are great improvements and more mature than their previous album. But I really don't want the performance in their future be 'more mature' and everything stay cool. Since the craziness of their gigs, which nearly fall to the diagnosis of psychosis, is really like no others!

The chaotic, crazy and totally "out-of control" release parties for the 2nd album at 1st and 2nd of July, and at 6th August were all sold out with explosive passion and cheerful audience. False Alarm gave them unforgettable nights. At 7th January 2006, False Alarm was invited to participate at an international music festival, Street Roar 2006 at Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia. Their usual passionate performance made everyone hot!
